FAQs at Heather Rash, St. George Island PhotographerFAQs

People often ask me “What should we wear”? Well, I can’t tell you exactly what to wear, but I can give you some ideas.

For beach photos, you should definitely not wear shoes. Many of the traditional photos show families wearing white tops with Khaki bottoms. This looks fine in photos, but I think it is a little out-dated. I believe clothing in the same color scheme  looks great. For instance, the mom might wear a colorful skirt with a plain top and coordinate everyone else in. One family I photographed all wore tye-dyed shirts with khaki bottoms. These photos looked great in color, as well as black and white.  Hats, scarves, jewelry, skirts, sarongs, layers, anything to add UMPH to your character always photographs well.

If you have children in your family and would like to bring their swimwear for a change of clothes, it is really priceless to capture the kids playing in the surf. Feel free to bring along whatever props that you feel reflect your child's personality. I do have some props. Trucks for the beach, starfish, shells, tutu's, head-bands, hats, ect……

I love capturing children and families in their everyday life and for my photographs to reflect who they really are. So think about what you want and we will do it.  Become your own fashionista!!

I hope my input helped a little. Basically, you should wear whatever reflects your personality and style. Most importantly, you should be comfortable...Of course you know not to show up in plaids, stripes, and polka dots all mixed together! HA!

One of my main goals as a photographer is for my clients to feel comfortable, and to be themselves when I am behind the lens. I want this experience to be memorable and fun for your whole family.

Happiness,

Heather
